Plastic Pollution Essay in English For Students 2023

Hello Aspirants,
Plastic pollution has become an increasingly urgent environmental issue in recent years. Plastic waste is found floating in the oceans, polluting precious coral reefs, strangling marine life and creating immense amounts of plastic trash in some regions. In addition, plastic pollution persists in the environment for years, breaking down into smaller and smaller pieces as it is exposed to the elements. The ingestion of microplastics by fish, animals, and even humans has already had a toxic effect on the world’s flora and fauna. Reducing the amount of plastic waste produced is essential to alleviating the consequences of this ecocide, which is why calls for more environmentally conscious choices when it comes to plastic items are growing increasingly urgent. Investing in reusable and eco-friendly materials and enforcing stricter plastic waste regulations are two important steps we can take to help address this pressing ecological threat.

Plastic pollution is now one of the major threats to our planet. It is one of the major causes of the environmental degradation. Plastic pollution is the introduction of plastic products into the environment which causes harmful effects to the living organisms. Plastic pollution is caused by the dispose of plastic products and materials which are not biodegradable. Such products include plastic bags, plastic bottles, Styrofoam containers, plastic straws and plastic cutlery. They are non-biodegradable and will remain in the environment for years.

Plastic pollution results in an array of environmental problems such as water pollution, soil contamination, and habitat destruction. The presence of plastic products in the water decreases the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water which results in a decrease in the number of fish and other aquatic animals. Soil contamination occurs because of leakage of toxic chemicals from landfill and trash dumps. Plastic can also get entangled around trees, plants, and marine animals, which results in the loss of their habitats.

Secondly, people should limit their use of plastic by replacing one-time-use plastic items such as straws and plates with durable and reusable alternatives. Third, individuals should buy products made from recycled materials. Lastly, people should support campaigns such as ‘No plastic bags’ and ‘Reduce plastic use’.
